SUPER SMART - GURUGRAM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN THE OFFING
GDA would be formally launched on November 1, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the year-long celebrations of Haryana's Golden Jubilee, Khattar said.
Gurugram has been brought on the global map and is known by different names like Millenni um City, Global City, Smart City... we have a plan for its integrated development,“ Khattar said.
The corporation polls would be held after GDA is formed. Union road transport and highways minister, Nitin Gadkari will soon launch a project for construction of underpasses or flyovers at IFFCO Chowk to ease traffic congestion on National Highway 8, connecting Delhi and Gurugram, Signature Tower and Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram, Khattar said.
The CM said that a Real Estate Regulatory Bill would soon be notified for the state and the construction of an expressway from Manesar to Kundli would begin within this month. He also claimed that Haryana has jumped from the 14th to seventh place in “ease of doing business“ and that the governmenet had set a target to take it to the fifth spot in the next few months.
“A start-up warehouse incubation centre will also be made functional in Gurugram. Nearly 80% of the Fortune 500 companies have their offices in Gurugram and it is a better place for start-ups,“ Khattar said. Connectivity with Delhi is being improved, even as the Southern Peripheral Road is being extended and declared as a National Highway; the flyover on Manesar and Bilaspur crossings and repair of roads will be over by year end, he said.
“There is a plan to have Metro rail service from Sector 22 in Dwarka to IFFCO Chowk and between HUDA City Centre and Sohna Road. A smart grid project has been prepared to supply electricity round-the-clock to Gurugram. City Bus Service would be introduced in big cities including Gurugram; the repair of roads in Gurugram will be taken up after September 15 and will be completed by end of this year,“ Khattar said.
